The Language/Administrative Assistant will be locally recruited and will receive a full-time assignment for 1 year, renewable for a second year, approximately until June 2021. The location of the post will be Chisinau.

A.Necessary Qualifications and Skills
• Moldovan nationality;
•Romanian mother tongue;
• Fluency in written and spoken English;
• Fluency in written and spoken Russian;
• Proven ability to translate / interpret from English to Romanian/Russian and vice versa;
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English, Romanian and Russian;
• Ability to draft documents and prepare reports in English, Romanian and Russian;
• Proven communication skills and teamwork oriented;

Other skills:
• Prioritise actions and tasks, meet tight deadlines;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office package and communication tools (proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
• Possession of analytical skills;
•Willingness to travel;

B. The following features will be assets
• Professional experience as Language Assistant in a EU funded project or a similar position in another project financed by an international organisation;
• Knowledge and/or experience in the Statistical Sector and knowledge of statistical terms.

C. Tasks
• Assisting and supporting the Project coordinators and experts for all matters related to language;
• Drafting written materials with relation to the project in Romanian and English, and, in particular, technical reports and minutes of meetings;
• Interpreting during meetings and other oral conversations from English to Romanian/Russian or vice versa;
• Attending other meetings relevant to the project as required;
• Translating documents, laws, regulations, training materials, information materials and other written materials from English to Romanian/Russian and vice versa;
• Proofreading of documents;
• Performing other duties requested by the Project coordinators and their counterparts.

D. Application Process

E. Selection Process
Only the candidates included in the short list will be invited by e-mail for an interview to be held at the NBS premises in Chisinau. The shortlist will be defined on the basis of the curricula vitae, letters and references provided by the candidates.
Emails summoning applicants for an oral interview will be sent to the shortlisted candidates only. The interviews will include practical exercises.

The successful candidate will sign a contract as service provider and shall have a self-employed status.
